A new United Nations Industrial Development Organization project will develop an entrepreneurship curriculum for senior secondary schools in Nigeria. The project, costing US$3m, part of which will be funded by the Government of Japan, will be implemented in the course of the next five years and will focus on supporting the education process in a total of nine states, namely: Anambra State, Bauchi State, Benue State, Cross River State, Delta State, Katsina State, Ogun State, Ondo State, and Oyo State.

21 states spend N37.4b on pension for 47 ex-govs
Former governors are exerting pressure on the finances of state governments with pension payments and other entitlements draining billions of naira every year from developmental funds for the states. Over N37.367 billion was, according to Vanguard findings, expended on servicing 47 former governors from 21 sates in pension payments and provision of houses, staff and vehicles replaceable between three and four years.
Boko Haram claims Nigeria university attack
BAUCHI/MAIDUGURI – Islamist militant group Boko Haram has said it was behind Monday’s twin suicide bombing at a university in north eastern Nigeria which killed two people. A video featuring an audio recording purporting to be leader Abubakar Shekau was posted on social media late on Monday.
Nigeria: Boko Haram is crushed, forced out of last enclave
The Boko Haram extremist group has finally been crushed – driven from its last forest enclave with fighters on the run and no place to hide, Nigeria’s president declared Saturday. His victorious statement came as the Islamic State group, with which one faction of Boko Haram is allied, claimed a successful attack on an army barracks in northeast Nigeria’s Yobe state “killed and wounded many.”
