Online editor arrested over exit poll

New Delhi, Feb. 14: The online editor of Dainik Jagran was arrested from his house in Ghaziabad early today following the Election Commission’s order to file FIRs against editors of the Hindi publication for releasing the results of an exit poll in violation of rules. The paper’s online edition had published the results of the exit poll at the end of the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections on Saturday.

50.4% voting in Ghaziabad till

Ghaziabad, Feb 11 – Ghaziabad district witnessed 50.4 per cent voter turnout in five assembly constituencies till 3.00 p.m. on Friday in the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls. In Loni assembly constituency, 51.6 per cent votes were cast while Muradnagar constituency witnessed 51.29 per cent voter turnout.

‘Moderate’ earthquake shakes Delhi, NCR

New Delhi, Feb 7 – A earthquake, measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale, shook residents of Delhi and north India on Monday night, creating panic and causing office workers to evacuate buildings, the IMD said. There were no reports of any casualties or any damage yet.

Attempts being made to turn Western UP into Kashmir: Yogi Adityanath

Hapur , Jan 30 – Raking up the issue of exodus of Hindus from western Uttar Pradesh, BJP leader Yogi Adityanath said on Monday that if such a situation persisted, the region would soon become another Kashmir. Addressing an election rally at Dhaulana in Hapur district, the Gorakhpur MP alleged that Hindus were being terrorized in western Uttar Pradesh like Kashmiri Pandits were terrorized and forced to flee the Kashmir Valley.
