Punjab: Fearing hung House, parties woo Independents

INDEPENDENTS, WHO contested this Assembly election in Punjab, are the cynosure of all parties ahead of the results on March 11. Parties are leaving no stone unturned to woo the strong Independents as fears of a hung Assembly loomed large over the parties as the election was a fiercely fought triangular contest. While all parties have officially claimed that they would get absolute majority, their leaders are either on the job to woo Independents or trying to keep them in good humour.

Sukhbir Badal mocks ‘human bomb’ Sidhu

Ludhiana , Jan 16 : Castigating newly-joined Congressman Navjot Singh Sidhu for his remarks against the Shiromani Akali Dal , Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday dubbed the cricketer-turned politician as a ‘human bomb’ which will sooner or later explode and cause damage. Ridiculing Sidhu’s assertion against the Akalis, Sukhbir Badal said the former will within a span of six months be speaking against the Congress courtesy his ego.
