BJP protests against Bihar minister’s remarks

Patna, March 4 – Bihar’s opposition BJP took to the streets on Saturday and organised sit-ins across Bihar against Congress minister Abdul Jalil Mastan, demanding his dismissal for asking people to throw shoes at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photograph. Leader of Opposition Prem Kumar said the BJP will continue to protest against Mastan and would intensify it in the coming days to put pressure on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to sack the Excise and Prohibition Minister.

Order CBI probe into test paper leak: Bihar opposition

Patna, Feb 27 – The issue of Bihar Staff Selection Commission question paper leak on Monday rocked the state assembly, with opposition BJP and its allies demanding a CBI probe due to alleged involvement of two politicians of the ruling Grand Alliance. The state government should recommend a CBI probe into the leak as the involvement of two leaders of the ruling dispensation has been reported, Leader of Opposition Prem Kumar said in the assembly.

Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan discharged from hospital

Union Minister and LJP president Ramvilas Paswan, who was admitted to the ICU of a hospital after he complained of breathlessness, has been discharged today. “Paswan has been discharged from the hospital after hisfull recovery,” Doctor Pramod Kumar, head of Cardiology unitof PARAS HMRI hospital, where the minister was admitted, said.

Demonetization will meet fate of Congress’ ‘Nasbandi’: Lalu Prasad Yadav

RJD president Lalu Prasad on Saturday said demonetization would meet the fate of ‘Nasbandi’ of the Congress rule and announced protest across Bihar on December 28. During a day-long meeting of RJD MPs, ministers, legislators and office-bearers, Prasad and other leaders of the party highlighted people’s woes following the scrapping of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes. Addressing the RJD leaders, Prasad criticised the move and said, “It will meet the fate of ‘nasbandi’ during the Congress rule in the past.”
