A new bridge over the Los Angeles River at Riverside Drive was touted by city leaders Monday for its “modern” pedestrian and bike-friendly features, but noticeably missing from all the fanfare was the support of those who normally advocate for such amenities. Three sectors of the Los Angeles-area economy sizzled last year, with tourism, air travel and cargo volume at the ports all hitting record levels, officials said Wednesday. Tourism led the way, with records set across a number of categories, according to the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board.
