Bronxville H.S. Graduate Inspires Students To Make A Difference

A 2013 Bronxville High School graduate returned to her alma mater recently to discuss her humanitarian and nonprofit endeavors abroad with current Bronxville students. Amelia Hopkins Phillips, who recently earned a degree from the University of California, Berkeley, spoke about the Somo Project, a nonprofit she began in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2014, according to a statement from the high school, which said that she spoke to Bill Meyer's humanities seminar class and Chris Doyle's economics classes.

College

This private, four-year school is located just outside New York City in Bronxville, New York. Tuition went up by just 1% this year, after it remained unchanged the year before.

Larchmont Playhouse May Reopen with New Buyer

There is some hopeful news for local residents who have been fighting to save the Larchmont Playhouse . Elizabeth Bradley, a volunteer for this effort writes in a post to the group's website that a Bronxville man has signed a contract to buy and renovate the theatre, and with help from the community, may complete a renovation: "There are several contingencies - including one that involves Regal Entertainment - so it's not quite a done deal.
