Orpheus Chamber Orchestra Plans Concert in Bronxville

The world-renowned Orpheus Chamber Orchestra will perform at The Reformed Church of Bronxville on Friday, March 17, in the church's Sanctuary. The concert is dedicated to the memory of Emily McKnight Corry, a passionate lover of classical music, who was a member of The Reformed Church for 51 years until her death on May 21, 2016, and taught eighth-grade church school.

Bronxville School Students Picked for All-County Ensembles

Bronxville Elementary School students Gabriel Maicon, Walker Liggitt, Justine Watkins, Francesca Ricciarini, Kathryn Giuriceo, Emma Wilmott, Aryia Banihashem Ahmad and Annie Petrillo were selected to perform with the All-County Chorus. BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Westchester County School Music Association has chosen 27 Bronxville students for All-County music ensembles that will perform at its 2017 festival concerts, which will be held March 4 and 5 at SUNY Purchase.

Marianna Perry Brittis

Marianna Perry Brittis of Bronxville, New York, passed away peacefully in Bronxville, NY on Tuesday, Feb. 14, one day before her 87th birthday, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Mrs. Brittis was active in historic preservation and was Vice-President of the Perry-Gething Foundation, dedicated to the preservation of Victorian and American arts.

Enslaved Africans’ Rain Garden Exhibit On View at Sarah Lawrence College

Sarah Lawrence College will present "Artists Talk," a program in conjunction with an exhibit of artist Vinnie Bagwell's Enslaved Africans Rain Garden project, Thursday in the Reisinger Auditorium on campus in Bronxville. Bagwell and spoken word artist Ty Gray-EL will speak about the project that honors the enslaved Africans who resided at the historic Philipse Manor Hall in downtown Yonkers, six of whom were the first to be manumitted by law in the United States, 79 years before the Emancipation Proclamation, according to a release from Sarah Lawrence.
