A political group in Cross River, `Voice of Central' has lauded the various achievements of Gov. Ben Ayade and endorsed him for a second term. Mr Victor Bassey, Director General of the group, said that the group endorse the governor's second term because of his infrastructural and human development within three years in office.

C-River plans largest woodland in Africa

CROSS River State Forestry Commission has begun the cultivation of the biggest forest in Africa with the planting of five million indigenous species of trees, which in addition to the existing forest reserves would form large canopy on roads and parks across the state. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Mr. Bette Obi, told NDV at Calabar: "We have both timber and economic tree seedlings which we are planting in designated areas in the 18 local government areas stretching over 100,000 hectares across the state and this will culminate in the largest forest in Africa."

On Thursday, members of the Lewisboro Police Department responded to a Lambert Ridge Road home in Cross River, where they recovered a cat that was on the roof of a garage.

Man Sexually Abuses Teen In Northern Westchester, Police Say

An employee at a mental health hospital in Cross River was arrested on sexual assault charges stemming from reported contact he had with a teenage patient, state police said. Carmel resident Dominic Sbordone, 31, an employee at Four Winds Hospital, was arrested last week following an investigation into a report that he engaged in sexual contact with a 19-year-old patient, state police said on Tuesday.

Motorists Involved In Route 35 Head-On Collision ID’d

State police have identified the two motorists involved and provided more information on a head-on collision involving two cars late Tuesday night on Route 35 in Cross River. A preliminary investigation revealed that Sigalit Leitner, 51, of Lewisboro, was traveling east on Route 35 while Patrick Vergara, 27, of Ridgefield, was traveling westbound, police said.

Ayade presents N301 billion budget for 2017

G overnor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, yesterday, in Calabar, presented an Appropriation Bill of N301 billion for 2017 to the state House of Assembly for approval. Presenting the budget, Ayade said that it was intended to project economic activities in the state, and would focus largely on the construction of the 260 kilometres super highway and the deep sea port.
