Man Sexually Abuses Teen In Northern Westchester, Police Say

An employee at a mental health hospital in Cross River was arrested on sexual assault charges stemming from reported contact he had with a teenage patient, state police said. Carmel resident Dominic Sbordone, 31, an employee at Four Winds Hospital, was arrested last week following an investigation into a report that he engaged in sexual contact with a 19-year-old patient, state police said on Tuesday.

Motorists Involved In Route 35 Head-On Collision ID’d

State police have identified the two motorists involved and provided more information on a head-on collision involving two cars late Tuesday night on Route 35 in Cross River. A preliminary investigation revealed that Sigalit Leitner, 51, of Lewisboro, was traveling east on Route 35 while Patrick Vergara, 27, of Ridgefield, was traveling westbound, police said.

Ayade presents N301 billion budget for 2017

G overnor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, yesterday, in Calabar, presented an Appropriation Bill of N301 billion for 2017 to the state House of Assembly for approval. Presenting the budget, Ayade said that it was intended to project economic activities in the state, and would focus largely on the construction of the 260 kilometres super highway and the deep sea port.

As part of its proactive approach to sustain the peace and security in the state, the Cross River State Government is to set up a homeland security outfit to complement the efforts of the existing security agencies in the state. Governor Ben Ayade disclosed this while receiving the French Consul-General, Laurent Polonceaux and his entourage on a courtesy visit at his private residence in Calabar.

CSOs slam foreign, local NGOs over C-River superhighway

A frontline pro-development group, Coalition of Civil Society and Media Executives for Policy Stability, COCMEP, has described as neo-colonialism and imperialistic, the ridiculous anti-people position being canvassed by an International Green Foundation, the Henrich Boll Stiftung, a foreign non-governmental organisation, NGO and its local collaborators against the 260 kilometre superhighway project being embarked upon by Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State. The coalition urged the Federal Ministry of Environment to disregard the position of Henrich Boll Stiftung and conclude the approval process of the Environmental Impact Assessment, EIA, for the project.
