A driver reaching speeds of more than 90 miles per hour took Croton-on-Hudson Police on a chase Thursday through the village before crashing into the gate of the historic Cortlandt Manor, according to Croton-on-Hudson police. Firefighters and police officers from several departments responded to a car accident at 7 a.m. Monday on Route 9 after a an SUV flew down the embankment, injuring the driver, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. The accident occurred on southbound Route 9, just north of Senasqua Road, after the vehicle left the roadway and went 150-feet down the embankment, fire officials said.
Two teens who were charged with juvenile delinquency for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl at a Yorktown party on Sunday, Oct. 30, were not hit with stiffer charges because the attack did not qualify as first-degree rape, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office.
