Ossining celebrated the Winter Solstice by hosting a Make Music Day on Dec. 21. Free live music was performed throughout the village. The event was organized by Make Music Ossining Briarcliff.
For Scott Ryan, the opening of his new Ossining restaurant, 6 Degrees Of Separation Restaurant and Brewery was a surreal experience. The restaurant, at 35 Main St. is the culmination of a long in the works project by Ryan, an Ossining resident, who teaches science at Ardsley Middle School.
That's where you'll find a 50,000-light display complete with a light tunnel and a full-size Santa's workshop. The lawn decor is done by 61-year Andre Platt, a lifelong Ossining resident, who has created a Christmas extravaganza on his front and backyards for 26 years.
