Croton Woman Charged With Bail Jumping In Yorktown

A Croton woman accused of jumping bail to avoid a petty larceny charge is to appear Thursday in Yorktown Town Court, according to police. Yorktown officers took Alyssa Anna Rodriguez of 25 Scenic Drive West, Croton, into custody early on Thanksgiving morning after she was turned over to the department by authorities in Peekskill, according to the Yorktown Police Department.

Cortlandt Manor, Peekskill Men Had Loaded .38, Marijuana, Police Say

A pair of 25-year-olds, one from Cortlandt Manor and the other from Peekskill, were found to be in possession of a loaded gun and a large quantity of marijuana after Beacon Police responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Route 52 early Saturday morning. Police said they observed the two males in the vehicle when they arrived at around 2:20 a.m. and that the operator of the vehicle, the Cortlandt Manor man, was intoxicated.

Lou Panzanaro Sr., Staple In Peekskill Community, Dies At 101

Louis W. Panzanaro, Sr. a lifelong resident of Peekskill who was a staple in the community, died on Wednesday, Nov. 23, just shy of his 102nd birthday. Panzanaro worked for the NY Central Railroad in Croton Harmon and for the Peekskill Recreation Department in their basketball program where he is fondly remembered by many.
