The Jewish Community Center in Tarrytown, New York, pictured Feb. 28, 2017, was a target of one in a recent series of bomb threats called into Jewish community centers and schools across the country. All 100 U.S. senators have signed a letter to the nation's top three law enforcement officials asking for more federal help for Jewish centers and schools dealing with numerous bomb threats.
Materials maker Ampacet Corp. is adding production capacity in Europe, and has introduced new products to be used in polypropylene film. Tarrytown, N.Y.-based Ampacet will add new production lines at plants in Messancy, Belgium, and Dudelange, Luxembourg, by the end of 2017, officials said in a March 6 news release.
According to Metro-North spokesperson Nancy Gamerman, at approximately 11:15 a.m., an unauthorized woman on the tracks at the station was struck by a southbound train. She was transported alive and conscious to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment.
