Bomb threat causes evacuation of JCC of Mid-Westchester

Police say a bomb threat was called into the JCC of Mid-Westchester in Scarsdale today around 10:55 a.m. JCC officials evacuated the building while the Westchester Bomb Squad searched the facility and grounds. The all-clear was given by authorities by 12:45 p.m. Earlier today, a bomb threat forced the evacuation the Jewish Community Center on the Hudson in Tarrytown.

8 bomb threats at JCCs and schools

At least eight Jewish community centers and Jewish day schools across the country received bomb threats on Monday in the latest wave of threats to hit Jewish institutions. Among the affected JCCs are Asheville, North Carolina, and Davie, Florida, both of which were evacuated to local churches, as well as JCCs in York and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Indianapolis; Tarrytown, New York; and in Delaware.

Auto-Pay to be Offered to Railroad Parkers

Commuters who park in $5 daily spots at Westport's two railroad stations or get a parking ticket there will now have the option of automated payments. The option of automatically paying via a credit card or "wallet" on file comes with a renewed contract with Tarrytown, N.Y.-based Complus Data Innovations, Inc. using its FastTrack Parking Ticket Management System, Police Chief Foti Koskinas told the Board of Selectmen today.
