Larchmont, Mamaroneck Lions Clubs Are Among Oldest Worldwide

French-American School Lawsuit Appealed

The City of White Plains has appealed a lawsuit filed by the French-American School of New York that challenges the city's denial of a proposed school at the former Ridgeway Country Club. In an appeal to the Supreme Court's Appellate Division, Second Department, the White Plains Corporation Counsel questioned whether state Supreme Court Judge Joan B. Lefkowitz can order the city to close part of Hathaway Lane and approve a site plan for a pre-K through 12 school on property purchased by FASNY.

Missing Hiker Found Safe In Westchester Park

At about 5 p.m., police from Greenburgh, White Plains and the Westchester County police departments joined firefighters and Emergency Medical Services personnel to search for an unidentified lost hiker at Saxon Woods Park off of Mamaroneck Avenue. The female hiker was last seen about one mile into the woods at the 700-acre park, and was reported to have vision problems and was unfamiliar with the county-owned park.
