Northern Westchester School Goes Into Lockout As Police Search For Suspect

A Chappaqua school was forced to enter into a precautionary lockout on Tuesday morning, as local and county law enforcement conducted a search in the community for a man suspected of larceny in White Plains. Between 9:15 and 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Robert E. Bell Middle School entered a lockout mode, according to Principal Martin Fitzgerald, which included keeping students inside and securing all entrances to the building as a precaution.

With rising tensions over immigration, discrimination and deportation, Monday evening's "Ask Astorino" Town Hall meeting is expected to diverge from Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino's planned agenda. The Feb. 27 town hall meeting begins at 7 p.m. at White Plains City Hall at 255 Main St. According to his press spokesmen, Astorino plans to give a 20-minute overview of his annual budget designed to "provide tax relief, preserve essential services and promote economic development."

Sayers comes to Westchester from Brea, Calif., where he was general manager of the Brea Mall, a super-regional shopping center in Orange County, Calif., that recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation.
