County Executive Robert P. Astorino Kicks off Hudson Valley Restaurant Week at Benjamin Steakhouse

Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino today joined Janet Crawshaw, publisher of The Valley Table magazine with Benjamin Prelvukaj and Benjamin Sinanaj, owners of Benjamin Steakhouse, to kick off Hudson Valley Restaurant Week for Spring 2017. To kick off the event, the County Executive plated the "Astorino Sirloin" at Benjamin Steakhouse in White Plains.

Opponents of the proposed French American School of New York have significantly increased their efforts against the project with the formation of Say NO to FASNY, a growing coalition of area civic associations that currently represents more than 2,000 homeowners throughout White Plains. As part of the opposition effort, the coalition recently launched a new petition drive, website and social media campaign to further spread the word regarding the extensive and far-reaching negative impacts the project would create.

A former suburban New York development corporation director pleaded guilty to defrauding investors on Tuesday, marking what prosecutors said was believed to be the first-ever conviction for federal securities fraud in connection with municipal bonds. Aaron Troodler, 42, former executive director of the Ramapo Local Development Corp in Ramapo, New York, pleaded guilty to securities fraud and conspiracy before U.S. District Judge Cathy Seibel in White Plains, New York, according to prosecutors.

Police Seek NJ Extradition Of Suspect In Scarsdale Bank Robbery

A serial bank robber who allegedly struck locations in Westchester and New Jersey could be extradited to Greenburgh after being apprehended attempting to target a TD Bank branch in Englewood, Greenburgh Police announced on Tuesday. Last month , a joint surveillance operation conducted by the Greenburgh, Mount Pleasant, Hasbrough Heights and Fort Lee Police Departments - with an assist from the FBI - led to the arrest of Eddy Cruz of the Bronx, who is a suspect in a Scarsdale bank robbery and White Plains gas station robbery on back-to-back days dating back to last month.
