STATEMENT: Fourth District City Councilman John Rubbo Speakes On Quality Of Life Issues

John Rubbo is a lifelong resident of Yonkers and was elected to his first term as Yonkers City Councilman in 2017 to represent the 4th Council District. John is a small business owner who operates Yonkers Brewing Co. located on the Yonkers Waterfront

“One of the things my office does is assist residents when they have a quality of life issue that needs to be resolved. I also spot these issues during my traveling of the 4th Council District in additional to fielding the residents concerns.

Some of the issues that have recently been reported and resolved are:

Mattress dumped on McLean Avenue

Traffic Light out at McCullem Place and McLean Avenue

Automobile repair shop operating out of a residential home

Speeding in residential neighborhoods

Non-permitted commercial construction work on Yonkers Avenue

Pothole filling on various local roads

Unstable telephone pole on Winfred Avenue

City Tree uprooting a sidewalk on Yonkers Avenue

Dumping of debris on Cricklewood North

Alternate Side Parking sign missing on Orient Street

Loitering in Bregano Park

Abandoned vehicles on Catskill Avenue and Francis Terrace

Water leak at Sedgwick Avenue

Tires dumped on Wakefield Avenue

Zombie home on Sweetfield Circle

Boarding home on Holly Street

Dangerous City tree on Alexander Avenue

Debris left by utility company on McLean Avenue

Plow and salter request on Thurton Place

Trash on front lawn of property on Alida Street

There are a wide range of issues and concerns, from minor infractions to safety hazards, that are reported to my office and we are fortunate in that Mayor Mike Spano’s Office of Constituent Services is very responsive to these reports.
