NO BUS MONITORS: Yonkers school leaders are making their annual push to ask the state for financial help.

Yonkers Parents Say Children’s Safety Should Come First

DANGEROUS SITUATION: The district is facing a $60 million budget deficit, but this year the city is proposing a permanent solution to the annual problem that affects 39 schools in the fourth-largest district in the state.

YONKERS: Leaders say amending the current foundation formula is a solution to fix the chronic underfunding from Albany, but failing that will the Yonkers School board move towards firing all of the school bus monitors

If the state can’t fill the hole, teachers’ jobs, extracurriculars and full day pre-K may be on the chopping block, along with the needed bus monitors
