An 81-year-old Westchester woman was killed Saturday after a two-vehicle crash near a shopping center in the area of 2550 Central Park Ave. in Yonkers. Yonkers Police and Yonkers Fire units extricated the woman, an Ardsley resident who was a passenger in a Ford Focus, shortly after the crash, which occurred around 11 a.m. Emergency responders began CPR on the woman, who was subsequently transported to Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, where she was pronounced deceased at 11:50 a.m. The Ford Focus was apparently travelling southbound on Central Park Avenue and appears to have been making a left hand turn into a shopping center parking lot when it made contact with the Chevy Tahoe, which was travelling northbound on Central Park Avenue.
