Astorino Promotes Free Summer Vaccine Clinics

Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino is reminding residents that health department vaccine clinics are open on Fridays all summer long to help families prepare for jobs, camp and the next school year. The Westchester County Health Department will provide free immunizations by appointment on Fridays in White Plains and Yonkers to adults, children and students of all ages who are uninsured or whose insurance doesn't cover vaccines.

Graduates Of Yonkers’ Andrus School Show ‘Goals And Grit’ Matter

Students proved that "goals and grits" matter as 35 eighth-graders received their diplomas Friday at the 2016 commencement ceremony at Andrus Orchard School in Yonkers. "You'll be on your way up! You'll be seeing great sights," Bryan R. Murphy, Andrus president and CEO, said to the graduates in his address at the special education school.

Campaign helps kids to read

The United Way of Westchester and Putnam kicked off its "United To Read" campaign today at the Riverfront Library in Yonkers. The program wants make sure parents in all income levels are talking to their children, getting them the health care they need, and reading to their children starting at birth.
