A coyote suspected of biting several people in Westchester was killed on a Yonkers golf course and reportedly found to be rabid. The victims were attacked by that animal, or another coyote seen with it and also believed to have the disease, Lohud.com reported Saturday.
Authorities in Westchester County are warning residents to be on the lookout for aggressive coyotes that have attacked several people and pets. The attacks occurred Wednesday evening and Thursday in Hastings-on-Hudson and Yonkers.
The Westchester County Department of Health is alerting residents that a coyote has attacked people and pets in the vicinity of Kent Ave, Overlook Drive and Clarewood Drive in Hastings-on-Hudson and the Homefield section of Yonkers. The Health Department is notifying residents in the area to not approach the animal, to contact police if they see it and to take precautions with pets.
