Westchester officials announce joint technology initiative for 4 cities

The Westchester County Association announced Thursday that Westchester's four largest cities will be signing a smart city initiative for technology. Yonkers, White Plains, Mount Vernon and New Rochelle will receive Gigabit Broadband, which will allow the cities to share technology and bring faster internet speed to every home, business, health care and educational organization in the next three to five years.

Westchester Woman Sentenced For Running Over, Killing ‘Rival’

A Mount Vernon woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty of running down her "rival" in Yonkers with her car and fleeing the scene. On Tuesday, acting Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty announced that Carla Scott, 36, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty of felony charges o manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident earlier this year.
