Rapper DMX Under Full House Arrest In Westchester

Earl Simmons, the rapper DMX who has been accused of cheating the government out of $1.7 million in taxes, was placed under full house arrest in his Westchester home Friday and ordered to wear an ankle bracelet after court officers found cocaine and other drugs in his system. A Mount Vernon native who grew up in Yonkers, the 46-year-old Simmons lived near the Bedford border on McLain Street in Mount Kisco with now estranged wife Tashera Simmons before putting the home into foreclosure in 2016 after filing for bankruptcy.

According to the New York Times , cities like Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, and Yonkers are starting to play host to developers as the housing crunch hits New York City. Mount Vernon is the home of a $48 million five-building 179-unit rental project near the Fleetwood station and this fall will see the opening of the Mount Vernon brewery at a site that used to manufacture fake Christmas trees, according to the Times.

Suspect Pleads Guilty To Fatal Stabbing Of 24-Year-Old Yonkers Man

A Westchester County man is facing more than two decades in prison for his involvement in a fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old Yonkers resident. Mount Vernon resident Donte Pace, 22, has pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter, a violent felony, for his role in the fatal assault of his victim last October, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. stated on Monday.
