Armonk’s Heavenly Productions Donates Backpacks To Yonkers Students

A backpack filled with pens, glue sticks and notebooks may seem like a simple thing, but it can really make a difference for a child in need, say the folks at an Armonk-based nonprofit. Heavenly Productions Foundation raised about $10,000 this year which it used to buy backpacks, school supplies, new library books and classroom necessities such as hand sanitizer and facial tissues for schoolchildren and teachers in Yonkers.

The book, which chronicles JR, a founding member of The Jay Tones, an Italian American trio riding the wave of the burgeoning demand for rock n' roll, is written in narrative form and takes place at Luciano's Italian Restaurant in Yonkers.

Yonkers Student Graduates From Newman’s Own Fellowship Program

Rey Llena of Yonkers has been honored by Newman's Own Foundation of Westport, Conn., as part of the organization's first graduating class of the organization's Fellowship Program, which provides recent college graduates with work experience in the world of philanthropy. The program, now in its second year, is designed to expand, enhance and diversify the pipeline of new talent entering nonprofit careers.
