SOA of NY Yonkers award scholarships

Sandra Kaufman, chairman of the co-sponsored SOA of New York/Yonkers Raceway Scholarship Committee, has announced that John McDermott Jr. is the winner of the 2017-2018 Scholarship Award in the amount of $5,000. The second place award of $3,000 went to Christopher Regina and Olena Hauser picked up the third place scholarship award of $2,000.

Haughton Memorial, Mistletoe Shalee, Stanley Dancer Memorial, Delvin Miller Memorial, Golden Girls, Miss Versatility and Kindergarten Series, Meadowlands Racetrack, East Rutherford, N.J.; and Lawrence B. Sheppard Memorial, Yonkers Raceway, Yonkers, N.Y. week begins on Friday at Meadowlands Racetrack with two $10,000 divisions in the Kindergarten Series for 2-year-old colt pacers and a pair of $10,000 divisions in the Kindergarten Series for 2-year-old filly pacers.

Harness Racing This Week: Graduate Series finals, Meadowlands Pace elimination, W. N. Reynolds Memorial, and Kindergarten Series, Meadowlands Racetrack, East Rutherford, N.J.; and Lawrence B. Sheppard eliminations, Yonkers Raceway, Yonkers, N.Y. On Friday the Meadowlands will host two $10,000 divisions in the first leg of the Kindergarten Series for 2-year-old colt trotters and two $10,000 divisions in the first leg of the Kindergarten Series for 2-year-old filly trotters. The stakes heavy Saturday card features the $240,000 Graduate Series finals for 4-year-old pacers and trotters; a single $50,000 Meadowlands Pace elimination for 3-year-olds; and the $41,880 W.N. Reynolds Memorial for 3-year-old filly trotters.

Hemi Seelster wins $68,000 feature

YONKERS, NY, Sunday, July 2, 2017 - A pair of second-tier harness racing starters decided the issue Sunday afternoon , with Hemi Seelster and DW's NY Yank took turns leading the dozen. The latter rated at cheaply while 'Hemi' methodically moved up outside.
