Mount Vernon Playwright Gives Voice to ‘Black Lives Matter’ Movement

A Mount Vernon playwright whose work was "inspired by the death of Trayvon Martin and other nameless black men," is set to bring a production of his play, "Strings," to the 2016 Atlanta Black Theater Festival . Charles Curtis, who was born in Yonkers, debuted the play in December 2014 at New York City's Shetler Studios, according to a statement from the production.
