NEWS 12: Stew Leonard’s owners teach parents about water safety

The owners of Stew Leonard’s were in #Yonkers Tuesday to help teach people about water safety.

Stew and Kim Leonard joined Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano at the Amackassin Club to share their story about their 21-month-old son who drowned in a pool.

The Leonards were at the event following dozens of drowning reports over the tristate area, with several occurring over the past week.

The couple said they wanted to teach parents about water safety, something they neglected to do with their son…..

NEWS 12: Yonkers woman comes to aid of Scarsdale man bit by shark in Cape Cod

YONKERS – A Yonkers woman came to the aid of a Scarsdale man after a shark bit him in Cape Cod last week.

Molly Tobin was on a family vacation at the remote Longnook Beach in Touro, Massachusetts, last Wednesday when she heard the screams.

“Shark attack. So my friend and I went to see if there was anything we could do to help, and we were the first people to get to him,” she says.

A shark believed to be a Great White bit Bill Lytton, a 61-year-old who lives just 6 miles from Tobin.

Tobin says she and her friend did what they could to stop the bleeding before EMS arrived….
