A Westchester man faces life in prison after being found guilty of pistol-whipping a woman and her son during a violent armed robbery in Westchester last year when he got bit in the face, leading to his arrest. Mount Vernon resident Sidney Lane, 37, was found guilty of two counts of attempted robbery, violent felonies, for an incident in Yonkers last July, when he attacked a woman and her 23-year-old son in their home.

A Westchester man is going to spend a decade behind bars after pleading guilty to attempted murder after he stabbed his former girlfriend more than a dozen times with an ice pick in the stomach and chest in Hastings-on-Hudson. Yonkers resident David Rojas, 39, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for second-degree attempted murder, a violent felony, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., announced on Monday.
