The timing worked well as President Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday focused on HBCUs, moving the Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities from the Department of Education to the White House, in an attempt to bolster the work with the private sector. He added that as a collective, the campus presidents “expressed a need for an unrestricted investment so that each campus could meet their greatest needs”.
