Tributes have poured in for actor Richard Hatch, best known for his role on sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica, after his death from cancer. The 71-year-old died with his son Paul by his side following a battle with pancreatic cancer, his manager Michael Kaliski said.

Richard Hatch, the Golden Globe nominee who played heroic Captain Apollo on the original 1970s Battlestar Galactica series and returned for the mid-2000s reboot, has died. He was 71. The Associated Press confirmed Hatch’s death with his manager Michael Kaliski, who said the actor died at his home in Santa Clarita, Calif., with his son Paul by his side.
