TrueVisions to drop HBO, Cinemax

Regulators have approved pay-TV operator TrueVisions’ request to drop six entertainment channels including HBO and Cinemax from Jan 1 as the cable operator claimed it had lost the rights to air them, according to a commissioner. Frank Kelly, 77, who played Father Jack in the hit comedy Father Ted, died in February, as did To Kill A Mockingbird author Harper Lee, 89. March saw the deaths of Paul Daniels, 77, football hero Johan Cruyff, 68, Beatles producer George Martin, 90, and Corbett. August saw the deaths of Hollywood legend Gene Wilder, 83 famous for Willy Wonka and Kenny Baker, 81, the man behind Star Wars robot R2D2.

“Fuller House” Renewed For A Third Season

Netflix has renewed its revival series “Fuller House” for a third season, the announcement coming through the series’ social media accounts. A continuation of the 1990s ABC series “Full House,” the story follows veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller who was recently widowed and living in San Francisco.

Shyamalan’s “Tales from the Crypt” Revival Stalled

Earlier this year came word that the cable network TNT is set to produce a revival of the classic “Tales from the Crypt” franchise with filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan slated to produce. At the time it seemed the plan was for the show to premiere before this point, but since then there appears to have been little progress on it.

McShane Talks “Deadwood” Reunion Possibility

Earlier this year HBO finally confirmed that its beloved and prematurely cancelled western drama series “Deadwood” would get a telemovie revival that would close off the storylines a decade after the show wrapped. Joey Boots, a radio personality and member of “The Howard Stern Show’s” Wack Pack, was found dead in his apartment Friday by another member of the clique, High Pitch Erik – and the grisly discovery was aired live on a podcast. Boots, who was 49 and whose legal name was Joseph Bassolino, was best known for his catchphrase “Baba Booey,” often shouted during live news broadcasts to the delight of Stern’s loyal fans.
