Harrison ‘Home Stager’ Wins Top Award From International Group

The International Association of Home Staging Professionals recently presented Harrison resident Claire Palermo Flower with its "Best Occupied Home Staging Award." Flower was given the award at the IAHSP Educational Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where hundreds of Home Stagers from across North America, Europe and Asia gathered.

Norwalk Man Facing Assault and Other Charges After Chase on the Hutch

A Connecticut man is facing numerous criminal charges after he led Westchester County Police on a chase Wednesday night on the Hutchinson River Parkway, rammed two police cars and injured several officers before being subdued and placed under arrest. Three police officers - two from Westchester County and one from Harrison - were injured in the incident, which occurred about 9 p.m. James Rozsa, 24, of Ingalls Avenue, Norwalk, was charged with Assault 2nd Degree, a felony, and Reckless Endangerment, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, misdemeanors.

Westchester’s Magee, Head Of NY’s Most Powerful Teachers’ Union, Steps Down

The head of New York's most powerful teachers' union said Tuesday that she will step down from her post in April as head of NYSUT, which has 600,000 members. Karen Magee, who once served as head of the Harrison teachers' union in Westchester, said she intends to lead efforts made by other unions to strengthen the role of women in the workplace, according to lohud.com.

Lea Romanelli, 92, Former Longtime Harrison Resident

At the age of two, she emigrated with her parents to Montreal, Canada, passing through Ellis Island, N.Y. After living through the Great Depression and the hardships of World War II, Lea met and married Hector Romanelli on June 19, 1943, in Montreal. The family resided on Temple Street in Harrison from 1950 until 2001.
