With the introduction of the account maintenance fee system, which will start from March, the bank will charge new customers with less than 10 million won in bank deposits with monthly fees of between 3,000 won and 5,000 won.

Deadly car bomb attack claimed by IS

A car bomb blast killed at least 13 people and wounded 50 others at a vegetable market in eastern Baghdad on Sunday, police and medical sources said. The explosion hit the mainly Shi’ite district of Jamila, the sources said with Islamic State later claiming that they were behind the blast.

CBI registers FIR in Haryana land compensation scam

New Delhi: The CBI has taken over the probe into a Rs 48 crore scam in Haryana in which government funds meant for disbursal as land compensation to farmers were allegedly misappropriated by a former district revenue officer of Panchkula in connivance with bank officials. The investigation agency has registered an FIR against the then District Revenue Officer, Panchkula, Naresh Kumar Sheokand and the then Senior Manager of Punjab National Bank’s Jangpura Extention branch Bhim Singh for allegedly embezzling funds meant for land acquisition compensation from 2012 to 2015.

The Israeli Embassy in the UK was quick to issue an apology, with Israeli Ambassador Mark Regev personally apologizing to Deputy Foreign Minister Alan Duncan, who was one of the parliamentarians “targeted” by the employee.
