Fire crews from Royal Wootton Bassett and Swindon were call to deal with a van fire on the M4 westbound between junctions 16 and 17 early this morning. One hose reel was used to put out the blaze after the alarm was raised shortly before 5am. No one was injured.

Connor Kirkley of Eveleigh Road, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on Friday, January 27 after pleading guilty to possession of a knife and a section four public order offence.
