Jat quota stir spooks BJP
Chandigarh, Feb. 9: A Jat quota agitation in Haryana’s Rohtak that could have ramifications over 130km away in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, which votes this Saturday, has left the BJP worried. The movement was resumed on January 29 from Haryana and in the last 11 days, the demonstrations have reached Delhi and poll-bound Uttar Pradesh where Jat leaders have campaigned against BJP nominees and accused the party of “betrayal”.
Amazon has an India problem
After pouring more than $5 billion dollars into India over the past three years, the company has run into trouble in recent weeks for selling products that have angered many Indians. Two weeks ago, Amazon was forced into a hasty apology for selling a doormat bearing the Indian flag.
Chandigarh, neighbouring areas receive showers
Chandigarh, Dec 25 : Giving a break to a prolonged dry spell this winter, Chandigarh and parts of neighbouring Punjab and Haryana received rainfall early on Sunday.
