Clean-up call as scheme starts
There has been a call to clean up graffiti around Shillington’s Quay as a 2.6million public realm scheme gets set to start in Portadown town centre today . DUP councillor Darryn Causby said that in recent months there had been a dramatic increase in the amount of graffiti around the town, but in particular by the River Bann.
Woman was on way to hospital
A 20-year-old Banbridge woman who broke a solid white line and drove on the wrong side of the road in Portadown was banned from driving for 12 months last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court. Ausra Krisiute, whose address was given as Moorefield, Banbridge, had denied dangerous driving on September 24 last year at Mahon Road, Portadown.
Penalty points following driver’s insurance mistake
Six penalty points were imposed on a 22-year-old man last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance. Scott David Johnston, whose address was given as Corcrain Drive, Portadown, was also fined 200 and ordered to pay a 15 offender’s levy.
Woman took ‘eye off the ball’ after son had been stabbed
Grace McClatchey , Princess Gardens, Portadown, was also fined 200 for the offence which happened on September 3 last year. For not having a driving licence she was fined 100 and she was fined 50 for not having a vehicle test certificate.
Insurance was cancelled
A 27-year-old man was fined 200 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for not having insurance on November 11 last year. Joshua William Matchett, Renmore Avenue, Portadown, was also given six points and ordered to pay a A 15 offender’s levy.
