CLOSE to 500 job seekers trooped to the Philippine Red Cross Training Center for the day-long job fair despite the inclement weather condition in this city. City Social Welfare and Development officer Socorro Rojas said 520 job seekers have registered during the activity on Friday, March 10, and 476 of them were interviewed during the eight-hour job fair.

Supermarket worker convicted of planning to join terror group in Philippines
A supermarket worker who had copies of a bomb-making manual and bought flights and equipment to travel to fight with a group linked to Islamic State in the Philippines has been found guilty of terrorism offences. Ryan Counsell, of Russell Road, Forest Fields, Nottingham, was in the “advanced stages of planning” to visit a remote part of the south-east Asian country and had bought military equipment to “engage in combat or support an extremist group”.

Zamboanga hospitals placed on – Code White Alert’
ALL hospital in Zamboanga Peninsula had been placed on “Code White Alert” to be ready in responding to cases of emergency during the Yuletide seasons. The Code White Alert status took effect on December 21 and will remain until January 5, 2017, according to Dr. Agnes Mabolo, Department of Health regional coordinator for violence and injury protection.
