THE Wiltshire Music Centre has been chosen to play host to the premiere of a world-famous orchestra’s performance of a piano concerto. The Academy of St Martin in the Fields will be performing at the centre in Ashley Road, being lead by Israeli pianist Inon Barnatan, the ensemble will be showing the audiences Piano Concerto No.2, The Haunted Ebb, composed by Alasdair Nicolson.

Emma North, who owns Simply Beautiful by Emma based in Cheney Manor , has been shortlisted in the English Hair & Beauty Awards for the third year running and now the 26-year-old is hopeful she will take home the crown.
New chapter for Higos, thanks to Royds Withy King
Wiltshire-based law firm Royds Withy King acted as lead advisers to the sellers of one of the largest providers of insurance services, Higos Holdings Limited, on its sale to Global Risk Partners for an undisclosed sum. Higos, which employs around 300 people and has 20 offices in Wiltshire , Somerset, Dorset, South Gloucestershire, Devon and Hampshire, was founded by managing director Ian Gosden in 1990.
Westbury suffers spate of mindless vandalism
The first incident happened at around 11pm, causing the outer double glazing pane to smash, and the second happened just a few minutes later at another house further down the road, also causing it to smash. During the early hours of Wednesday, January 25, a pellet was fired at a window in Eden Vale Road, leaving a hole in the outer pane of glass.
Royal Wootton Bassett man jailed for six months after threatening people in Calne
A 21-YEAR-OLD man from Royal Wootton Bassett has been jailed for six months after he threatened people with a knife in Calne town centre. Connor Kirkley of Eveleigh Road, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on Friday, January 27 after pleading guilty to possession of a knife and a section four public order offence.

A CHARITY which works with children who have experienced domestic abuse has been given a big helping hand by the Masonic Charitable Foundation. Splitz, which supports children in Trowbridge, Westbury and Melksham, has been given A 36,313 so it can help even more of the county’s most vulnerable youngsters find their feet.

Two guilty of manslaughter over Bath tipper truck crash which killed Cwmbran man
A haulage boss and a mechanic have been convicted of manslaughter after a 32-tonne truck with faulty brakes killed four people. Matthew Gordon, 30, and Peter Wood, 55, were each convicted of four counts of manslaughter following a trial at Bristol Crown Court.

Salon raided for A 1,500 worth of hair products
Victoria, Alex and Sandra Stevens, owners of Tops Salon, were shocked to discover the shop had been ram raided over the weekend AN EARLY morning ram raid on a hair salon in Melksham was just one of a spate of car crimes at the weekend as west Wiltshire experiences a mini crimewave. Alex Stevens and her family were woken by a phone call from Wiltshire Police in the early hours of Saturday alerting them to a break-in at Tops salon on the High Street.
