Westchester Runner To ‘Answer The Call’ At TCS New York City Marathon

When the gun goes off to begin the TCS New York City Marathon next week, a Bronxville runner will be one of the "devoted dozen" that will be "answering the call" to raise money for fallen first responders. Next Sunday, Bronxville resident David Kilsheimer is going to lace up his running shoes as he joins team " Answer the Call - the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund " to raise money that will support the families of fallen first responders in New York City.

Bronxville Students ‘Journey Through History’ During Philadelphia Visit

After spending time studying some of Colonial America's most influential and important sites in the classroom, students in Bronxville got to get hands-on recently during their trip to Philadelphia. Last week, fifth-grade students from the Elementary School took a trip to "the birthplace of American freedom" and toured the city's many historical sites, including the museums where the Founding Fathers worked to create the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell Center.

‘Team Chapel’ Raises Scholarship Funds Through NYC Marathon

With the TCS New York City Marathon, the team of Eastchester runners representing the Chapel School in Bronxville are making one final fundraising push before the big race. All summer long, "Team Chapel" has been busy pounding the pavement - both literally and figuratively - as they spent weeks training for the race while simultaneously running a fundraiser that has net nearly $10,000.

Bronxville Burglary Suspect Apprehended, Stolen Vehicle Seized

A Bronxville burglary suspect was nabbed by police after he stole a vehicle and a checkbook from New York Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital, according to Bronxville Chief of Police Christopher Satriale. Michael Perrier, 24, was charged with grand larceny and burglary following an investigation into a report filed by hospital security that an unknown man had entered an office at the hospital on Oct. 19 and stole a checkbook from a desk drawer and keys to a 2008 Ford Escape owned by the hospital, police said.

After spending a weekend helping rebuild two homes for Yonkers veterans , the Bronxville High School Habitat for Humanity Club continued to pay it forward, raising additional money for the organization during homecoming. During homecoming, the Habitat for Humanity Club raised more than $300 by allowing families to make a $5 donation to sign 2-by-4-foot pieces of wood that will be used to build additional affordable housing moving forward.
