30 Under 30: Meet Westchester Trailblazers Named To Prestigious Forbes List

Among the 600 trailblazers and change-makers spanning 20 industries are Westchester residents: Adam James of New Rochelle, Eric Frieman of Scarsdale and Sammi Cannold of Bedford Corners. Adam James is chief of staff at Energy Impact Partners, which has $500 million under management, and is the cofounder of the Clean Energy Leadership Institute , a non-profit dedicated to preparing the next generation of leaders in clean energy.

Students to Join Genre-Busting Performers at Purchase College

They're no strangers to the stage, but 10 New Rochelle High School orchestra students have been stepping up their rehearsals for a moment in the brighter footlights tonight, when they will join other area students at Purchase College performing with the genre-busting duo Black Violin . The act has gained a following for its sound meshing classical, hip-hop, rock, R&B and bluegrass.

New Rochelle Opera Presents Something Wonderful: a Tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein

After a sold out performance of last year's Bernstein and Friends concert, New Rochelle Opera will present another all-musical theater concert entitled SOMETHING WONDERFUL on Sunday, September 16, 2018 in the Christopher Murphy Auditorium at Iona College, 715 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY. New Rochelle Opera Presents la Boheme

New Rochelle Opera, Westchester's longest running opera company, will present Giacomo Puccini 's La Boheme, from June 21-24, 2018 in the Frank J. Auriana Theatre at the Ursuline School, 1345 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY. The production will be directed by Company co-founder and artistic director Camille Coppola, with orchestra and chorus conducted by Brian Holman, set design by Anthony Valbiro and lighting design by Adam Welsh .

Students Perform in Ajkun Ballet’s Nutcracker

The Nutcracker is an eternal holiday season favorite, and when a performance troupe brings the ballet to New Rochelle High School this weekend, it will include two elements sure to catch residents' attention: several dozen New Rochelle school children as performers - and a dash of hip hop. The Ajkun Ballet Theatre from Manhattan will present the ballet in NRHS's Whitney Young Auditorium at 7 p.m. Friday and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday.

Retirement Party for Police Commissioner Patrick J. Carroll

Nine student musicians from New Rochelle High School were among the best high school musicians in the county performing in the Westchester County Area All-State Music Festival Concert on Nov. 16. The New Rochelle musicians and musical groups they played with were: Annael Alvarez, soprano I, treble chorus; Isabella Gonzalez, soprano I, mixed chorus; Alissa Johnson, clarinet, symphony orchestra; Taz Kim, cello, symphony orchestra; Jada Miller, violin I, string orchestra; Elijah Pomerantz, alto saxophone, band; Julianne Paccione, violin I, string orchestra; David Rubertone, tenor II, mixed chorus; and Gabriella Sgobbo, soprano II, mixed chorus.

Library Presents New Rochelle History Exhibit and Program

"New Rochelle: Home for the Holidays" is the title of a local history exhibit and presentation being offered at in the New Rochelle Public Library this November. A sampling from the library's extensive collection of archival photographs will be on display in the library's Lumen Winter Gallery from Wednesday, November 15 - Saturday, December 2. The images are from various eras, with an emphasis on more recent history, representing the 1950s and 1960s.

10/01 Library Presents “Tango Rendezvous” Program from Argentina 3 PM

Returning to New Rochelle by popular demand, members of the Sala 420 Tango Bar from La Plata, Argentina, under the direction of Ruben Gerardo Monreal, will perform a fabulous program of traditional and contemporary tango music, dance and theater on Sunday, October 1st, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm, in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library. Performers include Elke Aymonio, a singer, actress and drama teacher; Mariana Fresno, whose dance background includes Tango, Ballet, Modern Dance, Salsa and Folklore; and Diego Ocampo, a graduate of the school of Dramatic Art in Buenos Aires and dancer.
