Greeley Guidance Chair Loses Post After Organizing Concerned Students

The chair of Horace Greeley High School's Guidance Department says she's been accused of urging students to openly criticize the school district and will be removed from her position effective next month, according to The Examiner. Christine Petrillo, a 17-year employee in the Chappaqua school district, denies that she encouraged any students to speak out against the school district's apparent intent to dismiss Student Life Coordinator Kristen Spillane, according to The Examiner.

A major Nor'easter a week away from the first day of spring is expected to bring the Hudson Valley to a standstill Tuesday, shutting down travel due to heavy snow and strong winds that could result in blizzard conditions during the day.
