Two New York City men were arraigned on Tuesday, July 24 on charges from two incidents including the theft of more than $500,000 in cash and jewelry in Westchester. The half-million burglary occurred at an Eastchester apartment in April, according to Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. Both men were charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and second-degree grand larceny, all Class C felonies.

Former Westchester Doctor Charged With Stealing $500K From Woman

A 69-year-old former physician has been charged with grand larceny for stealing more than $500,000 from a 97-year-old woman, according to Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. Peter Corines of Eastchester was charged Tuesday following an investigation into the theft which took place during a two-week period in November 2017, the DA's office said. The felony complaint against Corines says that the former doctor stole from Bernice Judd Porter of Yonkers by falsely claiming to be her power of attorney or pretending to be her on the phone or online with numerous financial institutions where the victim had accounts, the DA's office said.

A multi-agency police investigation into the theft of more than $500,000 in cash and jewelry from a Westchester residence has led to the apprehension of two men and the recovery of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Eastchester Police Chief Timothy Bonci announced the arrests of Bronx residents Asan Sefuloski, 28, and Morris Santaniello, 64, on Tuesday, who are facing burglary charges for their alleged role in the burglary of a Garth Road apartment earlier this month.

The American Cancer Society says that 13 Relay for Life events have been scheduled for May 20 through June 19. The community-led events will be held in: Eastchester, Mamaroneck, Chappaqua, Harrison, Katonah-Lewisboro, the Tarrytowns, Yorktown, Yonkers, Somers, Ossining and the Hendrick Hudson School District.
