John Shearer, a renowned photographer and longtime resident of Lake Katonah, is being honored for his outstanding contributions by the Westchester County Board of Legislators as part of its Black History and Heritage Celebration. According to biographical information from the "Time Life Picture Collection," Mr. Shearer is described as a true renaissance man, fashioned in the mold of his boyhood idol Gordon Parks.
