Hearts and Homes for Refugees Larchmont Mamaroneck , a sister organization to Hearts and Homes of Pelham, is holding a march and rally on Sunday, Feb. 12 to raise awareness of the refugee situation and to provide facts to fight fears people may have as a result of misinformation or too little information. The march will start at 2 p.m. at Flint Park in Larchmont and end with a rally at the Kemper Memorial at the Mamaroneck High School.

New leadership for FPU trustees

The Board of Trustees of Franklin Pierce University, the governing body of the institution, has appointed Steven V. Camerino of Meredith as chair and Kerry D. Stein of Mamaroneck, New York, as vice-chair, as Franklin Pierce enters its tenth anniversary as a university. Camerino, who has served on the Board of Trustees since 2012, is president and chief executive officer of New Hampshire Electric Cooperative, New Hampshire's second largest electric utility, which provides service to all or part of 115 municipalities in New Hampshire.

Blaze Destroys House In Mamaroneck

A two-story abandoned house on Shore Acres Drive was destroyed early Saturday when a blaze ripped through its first and second floors, according to lohud.com. Firefighters arrived to 947 Shore Acres Drive about 1:45 a.m. to find the abandoned house "fully involved," in flames, according to lohud.com, which cited the Mamaroneck Fire Department's chief.

Stepinac High School Crusaders to Host Iona Prep Gaels

The historic rivalry between the basketball teams of Archbishop Stepinac High School Crusaders and the Iona Prep Gaels will play out during an exciting tripleheader to be held at Stepinac, 950 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY on Friday, February 3. The excitement gets underway at 4 PM when the freshmen teams square off, followed by a junior varsity game at 5:45 PM.
