Mamaroneck Declares Snow Emergency Due to Blizzard Forecast

With as much as a foot of snow expected to hit the region, officials in Mamaroneck have declared a snow emergency that will be effective as of 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday. According to the New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the state is anticipating that between 16 and 20 inches of snow may fall in the lower Hudson Valley, with more than a foot coming to upstate New York.

The Winter Storm Watch for Westchester, Putnam and Rockland issued Saturday in advance of the major Nor'easter expected to arrive in the area on Monday night was upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning late Sunday afternoon. Westchester Pork Manufacturer Recalls Salami, Other Meat Products

A Westchester County pork manufacturer is recalling more than 5,000 pounds of salami products that were misbranded and contained an undeclared allergen. On Friday, the United States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Services announced it was recalling 5,750 pounds of product from the Mamaroneck-based Picone Meat Specialities.

Engineer injured after falling from freight train

A freight train is stuck on the tracks in Mamaroneck today after the engineer was rushed to a hospital with a head injury. MTA police say the engineer of a freight train heading westbound was inspecting the top of the train after an antenna hit a bridge around 2 a.m. They tell News 12 that he hit his head on the bridge, started bleeding heavily from the head and fell onto the tracks.
