Lights, Camera, Larchmont: MHS Grad Makes Movie Featuring Town, Residents

Larchmont is about to get its 15 minutes of fame thanks to the release of "Larchmont," a new 97-minute film directed, produced and written by Mamaroneck High School graduate Ben Zuckert. Zuckert, who studied political science at Tufts, said he was always interested in exploring his creative side -- he's also a musician -- and so, began writing and thinking about films throughout his college years.

Army Corps Near Final Flood Plan Report for Mamaroneck

A long-awaited flood remediation report being finalized by the Army Corps of Engineers for the Mamaroneck community was presented last week to the Local Summit of Larchmont/Mamaroneck. Flooding is an ever-present concern in Mamaroneck and guest speakers, Tony Gelber, Chairman of the local Flood Mitigation Committee, and Richard Slingerland, Village Manager for the Village of Mamaroneck, were tasked with explaining its causes and proposed remedies.

Town Of Mamaroneck Certified As ‘Climate Smart Community’ By State DEC

The Town of Mamaroneck is one of two communities statewide certified as "climate smart'' by the state Department of Environmental Conservation for its success in cutting energy use. The other New York state community recently recognized by DEC officials for energy savings including reduction of Ggreenhouse gas emissions was Ulster County.
