A former salesman at American Christmas Inc. in Westchester is suing the holiday display business, claiming he was cheated out of overtime pay, according to media reports. George Tower's lawsuit states he worked for the Mount Vernon-based company for a year and was never paid overtime for the 50- and 70-hour weeks he put during the regular and peak seasons, respectively, a report by the Daily News said.

The revitalization efforts at historic Memorial Field got a big boost on Thursday, when New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo awarded Mount Vernon $2 million at the Regional Economic Development Council. On Thursday, Mount Vernon was awarded $1,641,928 to investigate and repair the city's sewer infrastructure; $520,000 for the redevelopment of Memorial Field and $40,000 to develop an arts and cultural master plan for the city.

Bronx Man Arrested For Impersonating A Cop, Invading Westchester Home

A Bronx man has been arrested for illegally claiming to be a police officer and unlawfully invading a Mount Vernon apartment. Emmanuel Lathourakis has been charged with first-degree criminal impersonation for allegedly entering a West Third Street apartment on Nov. 26 after an 8-year-old boy let him in when he claimed to be a narcotics officer there on "official business."
