Detectives from the Bronxville Police Department tracked down a 24-year-old woman who allegedly stole nearly $1,000 in merchandise from a high-end clothing store. Police were notified of a shoplifter at J. McLaughlin on Wednesday, Nov. 7 when the store manager witnessed Mount Vernon resident Syiesha Jackson walking out of the store with merchandise valued at $948.

A Westchester man who committed a string of knife-point robberies and a car jacking of cab drivers was charged in Manhattan Federal court on Monday, according to Joon H. Kim, the Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Mount Vernon resident Allanmon Mavumkal, 30, conducted a spree of robberies involving at least 10 livery cabs in the Bronx, Mount Vernon and Yonkers, during which he robbed the cab drivers of cash, personal items, and their cabs at knife-point, according to Kim.

Earl Simmons, the rapper DMX who has been accused of cheating the government out of $1.7 million in taxes, was placed under full house arrest in his Westchester home Friday and ordered to wear an ankle bracelet after court officers found cocaine and other drugs in his system.
