Pace Basketball Heads Back To School With Community Outreach Day

The Pace University men's basketball team, the Setters, visited William B. Ward Elementary school in New Rochelle earlier this month, and spent a day reading and interacting with students of all ages. Ward Elementary, which is the largest elementary school in Westchester County with an enrollment of over 1,000 students, has unique ties to the Pace men's basketball program: Pace assistant coach Nat Harris currently serves as the school's dean of students.

In their continued efforts to revitalize the North Avenue corridor, Iona College officials have announced plans to establish a community restaurant and market at the former site of the Mirage Diner. On Thursday, Iona announced plans for SAGE Cafe, a proposed restaurant and market that will serve the needs of both Iona students and the New Rochelle community as a whole, on the ground floor of its recently constructed seven-story mixed-use facility at 690 North Ave. The initial design of SAGE Cafe includes a 3,000-square-foot "intercontinental-cuisine-influenced" restaurant and a 2,000-square-foot market and bakery.
